Matt Gondek, co-founder of Wonderful Life, was recently interviewed on the blog “Artist Seshions”. The interview covers all kind of good stuff like, why Brian and Matt started the brand, how they work together, and what’s the inspiration behind some of the designs.
How did you start getting into illustrating and designing?
Gondek: I have drawn basically my entire life. When I was old enough, I went to college where I learned how to use computer programs to make art. A few years ago a band by the name of The Devil Wears Prada were on tour and stayed at my house one night. While they were there, they seen my artwork and asked if I could do some shirt designs for them. One of the designs got picked up by Hot Topic and after that, the ball started rolling.
Whom have you created designs for?
Gondek: I have designs for tons of bands, wrestlers, snowboard companies and dozens of clothing companies. Some of my top clients would be Rome Snowboards, Fangoria Magazine, The Devil Wears Prada, Cobra Starship, the Ultimate Warrior…far too many to count!
